Hi Melissa, you are right that your duck is a mallard hybrid (possibly with a domestic Aylesbyry type breed but that could have been several generations ago). They are reasonably common in parks and gardens around the world where mallard exist. most of them seem to have the white chest but the green head is more unusual as is more often brown or black in my experience.
