Spotting

Description:

This tree is in my front yard of my new house in central Arkansas. At the moment, it has no leaves, so I don't know what they look like. The light pink flowers start out as little dark pink pods that are attached to twigs that are attached to branches. The bark of the tree is brown with gray. The height of the tree is about ten feet. I don't know when the tree was planted, but it feels fairly young to me, so it may not be at it's full height yet. The little pods and flowers are a new development over the last few weeks. They were not there when we moved here in mid-January. May be a peach tree?

Habitat:

It is in a corner of my yard near my house that receives full sun for most of the day; however, the weather here has provided very few sunny days. The pods began developing approximately four weeks ago, with the flower blooms appearing in the last week, maybe reacting to the warmer temps? It has rained a good bit the last few months here, so the soil has been fairly soggy. Also, I live on top of a small mountain. I didn't know if that is important or not.

Notes:

For the location, it says Oil City, Louisiana. I recently moved from there to Cabot, Arkansas. I just can't figure out how to change my location. Ugh. Disregard that. So sorry. Figured it out, but now I can't delete the note. I apologize for being technologically challenged.
