This katydid with an antenna longer than its body was found in grassland on the banks of Ganges in Mirzapur.

Definitely katydid. Grasshoppers have very short antennae by comparison.
Ah...I've thought the same thing about a sighting I had. Perhaps it is really a katydid like mine was. :)
