Botrychium biternatum

Description:

Leaves green over winter, sporophores seasonal, new leaves appearing in late spring--early summer. Fronds appear from August to October.

Habitat:

Southern Grapefern is found in moist forests, clearings and old fields. Frequent in low woods and brushy fields.

Notes:

Spotted along the Iron Hill Trail of Red Top Mountain State Park
