Caliris elegans
Small Praying Mantis, around 3 cm in body size. It was ordinary looking, all green, until I saw her wings. This doesn't looks like a threat display, but rather, she was flying during wet weather, and when she landed, one of her wings were still opened and I just managed to get 2 shots of it. Unfortunately, not the best of of situation as my flash didn't work and it was getting dark (that's when this critters comes out to hunt), so lighting was with my torch light.

Thanks @DrNamgyal. This one is not as lovely as the Orchid Mantis which perfectly camouflage as an Orchid. Only saw them in Butterfly Farms and not in the wild yet :(
Thanks too, @Jill, got lucky with it :)

Lovely wings! reminded me of the colours of the water hyacinth. :)
Thanks, @glbnoah109 :)
Very beautiful shot.
Thanks, @Ashley and yes, you will hardly see the wings when they fly.
But quite a few species of Praying Mantis with wings shows a threat-display by opening up their wings, and that's when you can see interesting colours and patterns. Not all, some are just plain white membrane on the wings.
Thanks too, @Sukanya.
There are a lot of species of Praying Mantis with wings that have colourful wings with patterns. Next time you come across a winged Mantis species, try to check them out ;)
Did not know they had such pretty wings.
What a pretty wing! Rarely get a good look at them since they fly so quickly. Great shots as always, Albert :)
