Description:

Greyish head with red on nape of neck(male) and black mustache(male). Slightly larger than a Grackle. Brown body with black spots on belly and broken black stripes on back. Long black tipped beak.

Habitat:

Wooded. Will be seen foraging on the ground and at suet feeders.

Notes:

Also known as the Yellow Shafted or Eastern Flicker Seen foraging with a large group of young Grackle in backyard. Hales Corners, WI. Sorry poor quality ..it's a picture off my camera screen.
