Marsh Wren

Cistothorus palustris

Description:

Out of all the wrens in the bay area I believe this to be the loudest for it's size. Small in size with a short tail, stocky body and long bill. Light color line starting from behind the eye. Light colored throat.patterned back and tail. They can be shy birds hiding in reeds but for calling or to check for danger they pop out to have a look or to loudly chatter.

Habitat:

Marshes with tall grasses or reeds.
