Tailed forest spider

Arachnura feredayi

Description:

This was one of my favorite finds in New Zealand. The tailed forest spider is also called a scorpion-tailed spider, for obvious reasons! They can move the "tail" around and do a very good impression of being a bit of a leaf stuck in a web. Only about a centimeter long. Found in a rainforest preserve on the North Island.
