3-4 millimeters in length, dark brown with pale diagonal stripe near tip of wing. Compact, short antennae.

Habitat:

Suburban residential neighborhood in small town on western fringe of eastern deciduous forest.

Notes:

These insects are abundant in fall and spring, overwintering as adults in sheltered nooks and crannies.
