Varied Carpet Beetle

Anthrenus verbasci

Description:

Insect. Dark brown, light brown, and white stripes on back. About 2 millimeters long. Has wings.

Habitat:

Unknown

Notes:

I found several of the insects indoors around an indoor tropical potted plant. I re-potted it using potting soil that had been stored outside for over a year. After re-potting the plant indoors, I found one insect per day for the next several days wandering around the room near the flower pot.
