spotted on leaf litter beside stream in semi-wooded area
That and Blue-ringed is brighter blue on the eyes and thorax rather than purple, and also differences in the pattern of black on the thorax and abdomen.
Thanks for the correction. The difference seems to be how deeply colored the wings are. The blue-ringed dancer has amber wings.
This is Argia fumipennis, the Variable Dancer. This is the only Argia in the US with dark wings.
WOW! Love the purple! My spot I found in a forgotten folder/external hard drive. I took two photos and it was gone.
