Bombax ceiba
tree with orange/red flowers which bloom from February to April. This Asian tropical tree has a straight tall tree and its leaves are deciduous in winter. Red flowers with 5 petals appears,it produces a capsule which, when ripe, contains white fibres like cotton. Its trunk bears spikes & is useful for timber, its wood is too soft to be very useful.Almost leafless when in full bloom. It presents a strikingly remarkable sight when the usually bare branches are covered with large, fleshy, red flowers. Birds are attracted to them, and are probably responsible for their pollination.
Found near sea coast ,with full bloom with red flowers, Tree height approx 10m.
