A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Ceratotherium simum
A very beautiful shot of two female Rhino sheltering a sleeping baby from the hot midday sun. Also known as the square lipped rhino, they present with a long square snout well suited to grazing. With small eyes they tend to be short sited but have a good sense of smell to compensate. The ears appear bluntly pointed and the neck is thick as it ends in broad strong shoulders. Three toes on the feet.
Open and wooded savannah
Location not accurate to protect the Rhino. I take Rhino conservation very seriously. :)

Thanks so much guys !!!
Yes great Capture!
great capture!
Thank you so much Wild Things and AntonioGinjaGinja. The guys and girls working for the nature reserve are the true hero's and not to mention the guards who put their lives on the line protecting them. I am just so glad I could share their success stories through my photography. I am sure together we can all insure the White Rhino's. Thank you all so much for making this picture special on this great community.

Thank you AshleyT and the Noah Ranger Team for this fantastic news. It was a great pleasure to share the picture and I hope it brings a smile to all who see it on the network and also promoters Rhino Conservation. :) This conservation unit recently had three baby rhinos!!
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
