Mediterranean House Gecko

Description:

A small translucent gecko, very common to Adriatic coast, it is also known as Turkish gecko or 'Moon lizard' - the later because they come out in the evening. Its main distinctive feature are the big black and lidless eyes with a vertical pupil. It is about 10cm total in length, transparent-rose-brownish in colour, with blackish pattern.

Habitat:

This species thrives in garrigue, soft-leaved scrub-land of Mediterranean; and favors stony land with some agave plants or houses. Here, seen on a terrace, in a house surrounded by vineyards and olive growth. Seen few times at dusk and early in the night, on Dubrovnik riviera.
