Description:

The Hooded Merganser (uncommon) have rounded, fan-shaped heads. the male shows his white crest during mating. The female has a tawny crest and gray breast. 16-20 inches.

Habitat:

fores-edged lakes and rivers, ponds, marshes, occasionally in saltwater.
