Common Evening Primrose

Description:

Tall plant with larger lanceolate leaves. Yellow flowers with four bilobed petals. Important plant for insects. Native.

Habitat:

Bayard Cutting Arboretum. Semi-wooded area bordering a brackish water source.

Notes:

I found many caterpillars and larvae on these plants (leaves and flowers). Leaves are edible. Medicinal uses exist.
