Description:

Have showy yellow, pink or white flowers, which are generally short-lived. They usually have five, sometimes three, petals .

Habitat:

They prefer dry and sunny habitats and grow well on poor soils. This specimen was found in a County nature Preserve along the walking trail in sandy, dry soil in full sun.
