Tiny about 20cm. Tail was about as long as its body. It's body base was black with a lighter belly and yellow dots and strands on body and tail. It's tail was triangular in shape, with the point standing upwards, like with crocodiles. It had very clear yellow bands on it. Its face was pointy with a black band behind the eyes.
Our swimming pool! Near Seletar Reservoir, Yishun. Singapore
We were having a swim and suddenly I saw something move at the surface of the water near the edge of the pool. This is the small baby that was with another lizard ( see spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/210... ) After the first lizard left this one stayed and let us get quite close, then he dove and stayed below the surface for about 10 minutes while I ran home to get my phone ( to take pictures) . It could not get out of the pool at this side and we tried to get it back to were it was easier for him to exit the pool. In the end it slipped into the overflow. I was worried that it would not be able to get out but after breaking the tile near the drain and having a look at the drain I could see that he could not get harmed and he easily could find its way out again. In the meantime the other one was rummaging in the undergrowth. I think they are just having a wonderful time there at our pool. I LOVE IT. Will bring them some eggs tomorrow. Ssssssst If the other residents will find out they will hunt them down. Looking on line it seems that this is a day old hatchling! Now I wonder what the relationship was with the other one who was slightly bigger but not big enough to be the parent. Could it be an older brother/sister??? Anyone?
