Ouston's Civet

Chrotogale oustoni

Description:

Nothing visible for first few minutes until eyes adjust to the darkness. It was then necessary to hold the camera and wait for it to appear under a lighted area and remain relatively still and then take a long hand held exposure and hope. The resulting pictures were red with no detail but by removing the red light the animal became fairly clear. Exposure times were 0.3 or 0.4 seconds

Habitat:

Darkened pen with red light source.
