osprey

Pandion haliaetus

Notes:

this was taken just outside off the flamingo visitors center. there were so many of them lots of nests too we even got to see some babies fledge, and fly, we even saw a few catch their first fish. this particular osprey was eating on some low branches of a tree so he let me get very close i left before i made him to uncomfortable... i didn't want to scare him away from a well earned meal.

Wonderful portrait!! Great series! I'd love you to add this spotting (and your other raptor spottings, including vultures!) to the mission Raptors of North America: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8627...
