Hanging Thief

Diogmites sp.

Description:

A robber fly from the Diogmites genus, approx. 1 3/4" long. They are sometimes called "hanging thieves" because of their habit of hanging from plants with their long legs. "I swear, Officer, he was like that when I found him!" I really did find him dead. At least that made it easier to photograph him.
