Muddy Weevil

Description:

This broad-nosed weevil was covered in dry mud, which seems peculiar because they are not usually in the soil. It has very long strong legs which can hold on so tight, it is hard to remove from a rough surface. There are only scales inside the tiny pits on the elytra. About 2 cm long. Family Curculionidae.

Habitat:

On a leaf in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
