A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Pinus taeda
This is likely the most commonly found tree in Eastern North Carolina. In early April, the male cones open and release enormous amounts of yellow pollen that cover every outdoor surface. There is no point in washing your car or outdoor chairs until the pollen season has ended or you would be using up enormous amounts of water.
Mason Farm Biological Reserve
