Emperor Scorpion

Pandinus imperator

Description:

Big fella... haven't tried to measure him, as he's a wee bit touchy yet. A rather interesting shade of bluish-black, with a slightly "milky glow" undertone to it. (Sorta hard describe.)

Habitat:

Native to tropical west africa. This guy was captive-bred at "Ken the Bug Guy" facility in Arizona. (I'd never ever purchase something captured from the wild for the pet trade!)

Notes:

"Fester" now lives at the Discovery Center in Ocala, where he dutifully freaks out dozens of school kids every day. Atta boy Fester! hee hee! I have placed him under the spiders of the world missions since he is an arachnid. Feel free to remove him if it's not suitable.

Hi Karen, he sure is an impressive scorpion! Lovely color.

Please move this to the Pets section since he is not a wild scorpion in his native environment. I removed him from the Spider mission since he doesn't meet the criteria. That mission is specifically for Spiders (Order Araneae) of which Scorpions are not part of . Thanks!
