Description:

Bright golden orange/yellow. 1/2 inch long -5-11 mm average. Males are larger). Very hairy. Long legs. Male due to its bright color and hair on legs. Sexual dimorphic. Abundant fly. Feeds on smaller insects and also consume nectar and dung. Breeds on animal dung. Short life span of about 1-2 months.

Habitat:

Border of woodlands and more open swampy woods (On Skunk cabbage near a small brook)
