Farlowella Algae Eater

Farlowella arcus

Description:

This freshwater fish is about 3 inches long. Slender body with a pointy nose and a brown stripe running down along its sides. It has the mouth of an Algae Eater. It seems to look like it has scales but the feel of the fish is rough to the touch, almost like shark skin.

Habitat:

Species inhabit areas of gently flowing water in submerged dead leaves and sticks, among which it blends in as a form of camouflage. Originally from Southern Amazon

Notes:

Purchased him in state of Connecticut
