Bubalus bubalis
A beautiful animal, even if it is covered in mud. About the size of a dairy cow - perhaps a bit smaller. Charcoal black with long sharp horns curving back over its head. Farmers usually keep them trimmed blunt, for obvious reasons. Females are said to be a bit more docile than males.
SE Asia , need to be near water and mud to keep cool. They overheat quickly, and don't sweat. A muddy carabao is a happy carabao! (keeps the biting flies away too..)
Hubby has promised me a carabao when we retire back in the Philippines! Lol. I think they are beautiful !

Oh good... It took a while for it to change on my phone then! Thanks!
I see Bohol, Philippines on the map and listing.
For some reason, PN still insists I took this picture in Florida. I took it in Bohol, Philippines, at my in-laws property.
