Pycanum rubens
These bright red bugs are the nymphs of the giant shield bug, the largest shield bug in my area. Although they are common, their nymphs do not usually congregate together at one spot as seen in the picture. Its host plant is Dillenia suffruticosa, a shrub with large simple leaves and bears yellow flowers.
