Fringed/Crested Iris

Iris japonica

Description:

On a heap of garbage grew this lovely flower! About 7cm in diameter. Light blue/white, orange, blue. GORGEOUS!

Habitat:

Near the Fushimi Inari -Taisha Srine in Fushimi- ku Kyoto. On a pile of dirty old leaves and organic trash, in between the trees of the forest.

Notes:

Looking at a tiny little sub shrine my eyes spotted these lovely flowers. What are they? Wild Irisses?
