Hoya carnosa
A vine with hardened oval leaves and balls of flowers with soft fuzzy petals and hard waxy interiors. The buds (6th picture) are pink and also very hard and waxy. A member of the dogbane family (Apocynaceae).
This vine has been growing for 30 years on a wrought iron fence in a garden in the City of Oaxaca, Oaxaca. It flowers almost all year.
Very unusual and beautiful flower! Looks like a puzzle. Love the close-up in the last photo - velvety and glassy at the same time!
