Description:

An endagered bird of weaver family, with its extreme bright red colour it catches your attention instantly. Common name - Mauritian Fody. (sorry picture is not that great)

Habitat:

The bird lives in several types of forest, including degraded areas, as well as plantations. Stands of Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) have replaced native vegetation and now provide shelter. It eats insects, fruit, and nectar. (borrowed from Wikipedia, provided the link below)

Notes:

The bird had almost gone into extinction list but has sprung back thanks to Mauritian authorities effoerts.
