Tamias striatus
Reddish brown with grizzled gray along the back and tail. Six black stripes down the back. They raise their young underground, and can have two litters per year. They use a high-pitched chirp as a warning call to others when they spot a possible threat. Though they can climb, they often stay on the ground.
Woodlands. Often seen along the rock walls.
