Description:

58-67cms. Large white duck with bottle green head and neck, chestnut breast band and black shoulders.Blood red bill and the legs are pink.Flight feathers are moulted between July and October and the duck is flightless for 25-30 days during this period.

Habitat:

Sheltered coasts and Estuaries as well as inland sites IE gravel pits and reservoirs. Feeds on invertebrates and some plant material Eats Hydrobia when on Estuaries
