Description:

Black head with orange breast perched in a dead elm tree. Excellent song

Habitat:

According to Audubon, the bird prefers deciduous woodlands and shade trees. Prior to the tree's decline, the bird's favorite nesting was the American elm.

Notes:

The Baltimore Oriole and Bullock Oriole are now considered the northern oriole. They are separate species that interbreed.
