Common Garter Snake

Thamnophis sirtalis

Description:

One of a few of the Garter snakes living near our house.

Habitat:

Tall grasses, the burrow underneath in snake holes. They come out when it is warm.

Notes:

They are fun to hold for a while but don't let one poop on you! It is a stink that is hard to get rid of!
