Stenurella septempunctata

Description:

Length of 8 - 12 mm. Septempunctata, from the Latin septem, seven, and dotted punctatus. The body is slightly curved, narrow. The coloration is variable. The pronotum is black or red, the elytra brownish with dark spots. The abdomen is at least partly red. The legs and antennae are usually also the red but not on the specimen I have found. The head and the pronotum are finely hairy. The beetles appear in June and July.

Habitat:

The distribution: East Mediterranean, South-East Europe, South and South-East Germany and Italy.

Notes:

According to Wikipedia it is red list of endangered species in Germany and in the Bavaria under the category 1 (extinction).

da, totalno! ja sam naletila na njega (vidis dole u komentarima), ali mi crvene noge nisu pomogle, a nisam double checkala i eolove slike ;)

No, no, is always very helpful to share about one's research ;) plus in that way I confirm my own doubts too! That's true, I'm waiting for Jopy, bayucca (probably without him half of my spotting wouldn't have names)... and other geniuses ;)

Thats ok, I'm afraid I wasnt much help though. I think beetles are a very tricky subject and there never a bug expert around when you need one :-(

Stenurella septempunctata has red neck too and all the other parts are really similar....ahh....this one is tricky -_- Thank you very much for your help!!!

I had a look in my insect book and the nearest I can see is leptura 6 guttata which is the same shape and has really long antenna and is found on umbellifer flowers (like yours) in and around woods, however it does look as if the one in my guide book is red on black and yours looks like black on red! I can't find any info on it though on the web.
