Description:

One of the most common damselfly in Canada. Male is light blue and black: black shoulders confine the blue stripes; abdominal segments 1-2 have blue dorsum; segments 3-5 have anterior part blue, posterior black: segments 6-7 entirely black; segments 8-9 entirely blue. Large light blue postocular spots.

Habitat:

Usually spotted in wetlands, from bogs to fens. Spotted in urban park.
