Tree-running Mantid (nymph)

Ciulfina sp.

Description:

Ciulfina is a genus of small, tree-dwelling mantises in the Family Liturgusidae and native to Australia. It is thought that their flattened body facilitates moving under tree barks.

Habitat:

Dry sclerophyll forest. Mt. Coot-tha, Stringybark Track.

Notes:

25 mm eyes to abdomen. Notice the stripes through the eye and stripy legs.
