Woodchuck (groundhog)

Marmota monax

Description:

A woodchuck comes often out from under our deckand goes back there to hide. Last year it was a female and gave birth to a baby woodchuck. They raid our plants and bird feeders! Earlier in the season, there was a raccoon hiding there and coming out to eat the bird seeds. I think they have nests elsewhere and they just use our deck for quick cover and escape route.

Habitat:

Our yard! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groundho...

Notes:

In the second picture you can just see the tail of the woodchuck sticking out!
