Polyphemus Moth caterpillar

Antheraea polyphemus

Description:

We live in the country on 12 acres, with a pond, 3 acres of woods, open pastures and fields, and lots of gardens. This caterpillar was climbing on a tree near our party picnic table. Very slow moving but beautiful to see.
