Tiny Leaf Beetle of 3 mm in length, yellow with black markings. Family Chrysomilidae.
Abandoned field, semi-urban area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
I think you are right, princess, it is very close to the Cucumber beetle. I went through all the photos I could find, they are sometimes yellow, sometimes green but never have a black mark on the thorax. Could be the same genus?, but I couldn't find one like it.
I'm not sure if the ID I suggested is correct, but it's very close...
