This is so hard to believe, a gut string -like vine going up a tree straight like a stick and without any tendrils. But I forgot to photograph the base of this vine. Is there any vine like this? Or is it something else?

It might be a root coming down from a parasite plant on the branches of the tree. I've seen this in tropical forests.
