Description:

海茄苳葉片的正面綠色，背面灰綠色，有排鹽的腺體生長在鹽分較重的河口的海茄苳會把身體多餘的鹽分從葉子背面排出，因此葉子背面常常有一層薄薄的鹽

Habitat:

海茄冬生長於台灣西南沿海溫岸,潮溝河口澤地之常綠灌木和喬木。

Notes:

還勞在主幹四周的呼吸根，不但協助海茄苳在潮溼泥濘的環境中進行呼吸作用，還能發揮支持植株，堅固土地減還水流功能。
