Rose chafer

Macrodactylus subspinosus

Description:

Reddish brown tan small beetle that is eating the leaves of my yearling apple and pear trees. They are everywhere mating in pairs. They have been here, from what I can tell, for about 3 weeks.

Habitat:

Young apple and pear trees

Notes:

I am worried they will kill my new trees! Help!

Sorry about the damage. Have you tried calling your county Extension office to see if they can suggest something to discourage them?
