Sphagnum teres

Description:

Plant green-brown; capitulum with pronounced bud 5 stellate. Stem leaves 1.0-1.5 mm, oblong, apex entire or errose, hyaline cells non-septate, no pores; Branch leaf 1.2 mm. ovate to a tapered tip, green cells mostly exposed on convex surface, hyaline cells small with large pores appearing in chain-like rows.

Habitat:

Growing in a poor Fen. Forming floating mats. Full sun exposure. Associated with S. teres, and S. subsecundum.
