The rose-breasted grosbeak is a large insect-eating songbird in the cardinal family. It is primarily a foliage gleaner. It breeds in cool-temperate North America, migrating to tropical America in winter. from Wikipedia
When I saw this bird, I could only see black and white (second picture), but when it turned around there was a bright red (first picture) on its chest.
