A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Pinus sp.
The genus "Pinus" comprises more than 100 species with great potential to be explored. In Brazil, species of this genus have been planted for more than a century, having been initially introduced for ornamental purposes. Only in the 1960s is that began planting pine on a commercial scale, especially in the South and Southeast of Brazil.
I found this specimen in a region of transition between the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest.
In last photo, me, just to compair the size of the tree (Me = 1.80m)
