Description:

At approximately four and a half feet tall, this bird is the largest wading bird in North America. Blue-gray with a yellow bill, black marking on the top of the head and black feathers along the rear margin seen in flight.

Habitat:

This bird searches for food along the shallow margins of lakes, ponds, rivers, streams and marshes.
