Prickly Rose

Rosa acicularis

Description:

The rose flowers are both pink and white. The rose was a 5 foot high shrub, with three to seven leaflets. The leaflets are ovate, with serrate (toothed) margins.

Habitat:

This rose was in a planting of Canadian native plants. It is the most abundant rose species growing in the boreal forests of northern Canada and Alaska.
