Nice series! If you google "Shaw's dark ground snake" you get mostly pictures of the drab, brown variety with very little yellow. If you google the scientific name 'Liophis melanotus' there are a bunch with the mostly bright yellow markings to compare with this guy.

Beautiful snake! It looks like some kind of racer / garter / queen snake from the Colubridae family. There aren't a lot of good photo ID based sites for snakes form South America, the best match I could find was from a Venezuelan tourism site:
